Bangladeshi queers have a crisis of memory. Our lived experiences remain unrecorded due to shame, violence, and criminalization. Without a shared history, we remain separated across class, caste, religion, ethnicity, regionality, gender, and other differences. Memory matters in our struggles for liberation.

Memory organizing = caring x affirming the significance of queer bonds.

We agitate against the colonial order of archiving. We center feelings, reciprocity, and care in our co-creative journeys of making archives. We want to reimagine Bengal Delta as a space of solidarity instead of a geographic and national marker to build coalitional archives of scattered yet connected queer communities. We take a non-traditional creative approach to co-producing and activating archives along with community members. Engaging with archival materials and collaborative knowledge-making are integral to our archiving approach. We see ourselves as custodians (not owners) of memories ultimately owned by the community. We want to ensure that Bangladeshi queer memories are honored, remembered, and celebrated.
